New Version of Banknotes Issued
The Central Bank of Kazakhstan announced that starting March 28, 2025, it will officially issue a newly designed 1,000 tenge banknote. This banknote belongs to the "Saka Style" series and is the fourth new currency in the series, reflecting the profound heritage of Kazakh ethnic culture. The new 1,000 tenge banknote, part of the "Saka Style" series, incorporates the art, nomadic cultural characteristics, and historical legacy of the Saka period. Its design inspiration draws from the ancient Saka artistic style, blending the unique charm of nomadic culture with the historical continuity of Kazakhstan's past and present.

▲ Front and Back Pattern Analysis
The new 1,000 tenge banknote features brown and light brown as its primary color scheme. The front design includes a soaring bird in the sky and the "Tree of Life" branches, symbolizing the sacred connection between humans and nature. It incorporates the infinite symbol from Kazakh traditional patterns, representing the DNA double helix structure and the close bond between humanity and nature. Additionally, it showcases an artifact from the Beso-Ba ancient tombs dating back to the 6th to 4th centuries BC—a pendant buckle with a twisted fierce beast design, embodying strength and resilience.
The reverse side is equally captivating, featuring a shield backdrop adorned with traditional Kazakh decorative motifs and accompanied by a Kazakh hound design. The shield pattern, adorned with ancient symbolic elements, represents protection and safety, while the circular sunwheel symbolizes creativity and life energy. Additionally, the chest ornament clasp, derived from the grave of Krik-Obagu dating back to the 7th-6th centuries BC, features a twisted beast design that once again embodies steadfastness and resilience. The central background of the banknote skillfully blends steppe landscapes with Kazakh traditional decorative patterns, with the infinity symbol element running throughout.
