Tunisian media reported that the Central Bank of Tunisia will issue a new 50 dinar banknote with legal tender and exemption effect starting from September 23, 2025. The design, features, and security features of this banknote are the same as the current circulating banknotes of the same denomination and type, but the issuance date has been changed from March 20, 2022 to July 25, 2025, and the size is larger. The banknote bears the signatures of Fati Zuheil Nuri, Governor of the Central Bank of Tunisia, and Murad Abdul Salam, Deputy Governor. The 2022 version of the 50 dinar banknote is circulating simultaneously with banknotes of the same denomination and type currently in circulation.
