The Qatar Central Bank (QCB) announced changes to the fifth series of the 5, 10, and 50 riyal denominations

According to the official statement released by QCB, the adjustments cover the official State emblem, Arabic numeral design, and printed issue year “2026” on the obverse side. No modifications are made to denomination value or core design layout.

The central bank clarified that previous editions of the QR5, QR10 and QR50 banknotes from the fifth series will remain legal tender and continue circulating normally.

Similar updates will be introduced to other currency denominations at a later stage as part of the national currency modernization programme. The public and all commercial entities shall accept both old and updated notes for all transactions.
