New note issuance in July: Japan to Morocco

1. Thailand 🏅

On July 23rd, the Central Bank of Thailand issued a new 100 baht commemorative banknote to commemorate the 6th anniversary of King Maha Vajiralongkorn's coronation. This banknote features a vertical design and is made of plastic material, with a total of 10 million issued.

Japan 💸

On July 3, 2024, the Bank of Japan launched a new series of circulating banknotes. The Japanese Ministry of Finance announced this plan in April 2019, aiming to update the monetary security policy every 20 years (the previous version of circulating banknotes was issued in 2004). The new series of banknotes includes three denominations: 1000 yen, 5000 yen, and 10000 yen. It is worth noting that the denomination of 2000 yen is relatively rare, with very little circulation, and new banknotes can be used without the need for exchange.

Poland 🏰

On July 26, 2024, the National Bank of Poland issued a commemorative banknote with a denomination of 20 zlotys to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of the Warsaw Uprising, which was one of the most important events in modern Polish history.

Morocco 🌿

On July 30, 2024, Moroccan banks launched a new series of circulating banknotes with a face value of 50 dirhams. Starting from 2023, Moroccan banks will begin issuing a new series of circulating coins and banknotes. In November 2023, the 100 dirham denomination will begin circulation; In January 2024, the 200 dirham denomination began to circulate. The theme of the new 50 dirham banknote showcases the environment and renewable energy.
